Vertical CNC lathes offer a thermo-resistant construction (chips do not fall onto the machine bed),

fast workpiece change times (pick-up system through the main spindle) and a ridged tool arrangement,

which also allows unrelated machining work,  like hard turning or grinding process on the same machine.
